Saltist Nero 4500 Review?
Submitted by Hiramasa on Sun, 2015-09-20 06:22
Im looking to put together a 50lb bottom bashing, tuna trolling outfit and was curious if anyone is using the Daiwa Saltist Nero 4500, thoughts etc? I dont use 50lb much so dont want to spend a lot of $$. Just after a good quality workhorse that will be nice to use and do the job. I'll likely be matching it to a 50lb Hiramasa rod or similar. Any thoughts appreciated, cheers!!

Haven't used it yet but my son won one of these for champ junior in the Broome billfish comp.
Spooled it up with 40lb for him. Will give it a run probably next week. It feels smoother than the blue saltists.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Love the look of these
Love the look of these reals, same line capacity and drag as the blue model ,which is what I have . Only difference I think is the Nero has one less ball bearing.

How do the Saltists compare to the 5000 Stradics?

You can't really compare the
You can't really compare the two ,the 4500h is closer to a 8000 Stradic could even be a bit bigger .

Not a fan of the saltists.
Not a fan of the saltists. Stradics, sustains, biomasters, are far better reels, either that or save up for a Catalina, Wouldn't go down the spheros/Saragosa line either, just my opinion. Serviced all these at one stage or another, the saltists, spheros and Saragosa are very different quality internally to the others mentioned.
