Sambos

lookin to go sambo fishin a gemini this weekend can anyone tell me are they still roung there i only have gem gps spot would like to know few more so i can hurt my mates who think they are fisherman

Take some burley and you will find the schooling fish, or, in most cases - they will find you. Theres been rumours of tuna around the gemini as well, but I think its still a bit early.

seens like water is still bit cool was at the fads couple of weeks ago bait scools round the fad were small and the mahi werent intrested at all. sambos wanted to play though

Yellow Tail Kingfish.. Fight just as good as sambo's, if not better. Well worth targetting off Gemini or southside of Rotto.

Mates went out the fads yesterday and said it was quiet as. But the water temperature is 2 degrees warmer than 2 weeks ago.

so just anchor up close to gem cube up watch the sounder thats it?

what if nothing happens? only bin sambo fishing once.

and these ytk will be in the same schools as the sambos?

and i presume that they like jigs too

occasionally they will be with the sambos, but from what ive heard they seem to be in groups of about 6 or so. Try achoring and burleying with cubes of mulies, a live herring or yellowtail works well if they wont take a dead bait .
