Seabird fishing

Well got to get out yesterday with the bro inlaw to seabird with the dinghy, weather was perfect for a beach launch and retrieve having no swell and a off shore breeze. as we got out to our spot it started pretty sloppy and the deck hand had started to burley the water up with his beer and vodka from the night before lol. He toughed it out and the wind dropped rite off and it was magic a few drifts later and no fish I decided to throw a lure out the back and have a cruise around being a bit of bird activity in the area, within 2 minutes line was peeling off and I had my first ever spanish mack on the boat, I had put a bit of pressure on me deckie( u better not miss the gaff shot or u Goin in also) but he done me proud a few high 5's and woohooo's later we got the lure back in but nothing else. It was great to get one off my bucket list and fishing local instead of thinking I have to wait another year to get to shark bay to get one so all in all great day I won't forget for a while.

Most likely...

...that would've been from the "beer & vodka hangover" gaff shot!

Good stuff, great to get that first one without having to travel halfway up the state and from a tinny makes it more impressive!

These mack captures trickling through are starting to get very encouraging!

Nice one mate. I'm quite partial to a Spanish cutlet on the barbie with a bit of lemon pepper! Yum
