Seascapes (Halls Head)

Just bought a block of land 100 metres from the beach, building there in the next 12 months. Beach there looks nice and deep, does anyone know if it fishes ok? I'd love to be able to just walk across the road and bag a nice Mulloway or Tailor :)

Plenty of good fish down there

You won't have a problem catching Tailor along there that's for sure. Good lure tossing coastline. Plenty of Mulloway down that way also. Not any easier to catch though

Beach Fishing

Sun, 2012-06-10 14:30

Casting Poppers around the ever present shallow reef breaks around there will turn up big Tailor during winter. Secret Groin (Seascapes main Beach) has alot of fringing reefs. During late September/ Early October you will get Mulloway upto about 15kg in the gutters. Also a little bit further south is Gretel st which runs parallel to the beach, At the bottom of the stair access to the beach there is an exposed reef which runs into a deep hole  which produces small reef sharks and mulloway from time to time.

No probs mate there's plenty of holes and gaps in the reef along that stretch from falcon to halls head that would hold fish just got to be in the right place at the right time think Polly's is the more well known along that stretch  haven't had much luck there myself ..

Alexis Circle

Bit further south towards the Cut, but i have fished the little hole down from Alexis Circle before with mixed results. Sometimes really good for predatory fish, other times good for bread and butter species.

Awesome news, thanks for the replies! I'm straight across the road from Silver Sands beach at the moment (Renting), and gave up fishing over there. I won't be moving for 12 months or so, but any excuse to head down there to "Check the block" I think I will have to take a rod ;)

Good for big winter greenbacks at the moment? I've got a couple weeks off, so I can think of worse things to do than get an early start at my "New local" ;)

Silver Sands

Gee mate. You are living on a gutter, literally. The gutter runs very close to the beach and goes right up the coast. That's prime Mulloway country. Many of time I have not been able to stop fish on that beach.

Yep,

I spent a few of my younger years fishing that stretch (Silver Sands to Madora Bay) and we used to have no trouble at all catching Choppers and a few Mulloway each year.

San Remo to Secret Harbour probably the best for the bigger Mulloway, 20kg+.

UncutTrigger, are you talking about where I am now (S/S) or where I'm going (Seascape)? I've fished San Remo, Golden bay, etc, for some good results, but countless hours at Silver sands beach I've caught nothing but banjos and blowies! Haven't seen anyone else fishing there either, been living here since November.
