Setting up furuno 295

Hey guys,

Trying to get a bit of insight into setting up my furuno 295 an looking at 2kw size ducer.

not sure weather to mount it on a sliding bracket on the back of the boat an dunk it in the water once at a slower "sounding speed"

or have it built into the hull an where is a good place to buy the tranny from if anyone has any links or experiance

with the installation an where an what kind of 2kw ducer to get.

Cheers

Nice set up Josh, what tub

Nice set up Josh, what tub did you end up going with mate?

Personally I would go with a wet box, have a look at the airmar R99 or M89 for dual frequency. For settings might want to see the local Furuno Guru aka Harro

Pete from Bosun's made up a custom box for the tub due to limited room inside the transom, if you are heading down the same path come over & take a squiz if you want

i ended up getting a 6m guardian a bit older but real heavy glass thing just plows through it.

also it came with a brand new trailer an a 4 stroke merc which was a good selling point.

maybe give us your number an i can give you a bell an come have a squiz, this is uncharted waters for

me so i dont wanna blow a ton of money an it not work as well as it could.

Critical point; is the boat Ali or glass? Wet-faced like Southcity104 is also a good way to go.

I have the 295 and R199 wetbox in my Baron Sports and it is AWESOME ! Just beware there are some hidden costs involved if you want to intall it in an open boat as the 295 is not really splash proof as well as installing the trdxr.

PM me for more info if needed

cheers
