Can definately vouch for the Tyrnos range. I run 30's and the young fella has a 20 and they can handle anything thrown at them. Well made and smooth through the drag increase. They are spooled up with 30lb mono so good for trolling and b/bouncing.

hard to compare as I havent owned or used a tyrnos but the Marquesa (i have a 20) is a pretty good reel heaps of drag, narrow spool for thumbing and quick retrieve.  I have slayed heaps of fish on mine

i have 2 tyrnos 30s i use for

i have 2 tyrnos 30s i use for trolling only with 50 lb maxima. a big tuna had one of them sent back to shimano for a complete rebuild. it was a very big tuna that busted me off due to a too short a leader. luckily they have 10 year warranty which is the big bonus. i wont use them for bottom boncing as i dont like lever to do this and much prefer my tekotas for this as they are spooled with braid and freespool is easier without added pain of checking the lever drag is set to strie all the time. also the tyrnos have quite high gearing and take a bit more work when down deep to bring up. imo they still are still a better reel

 Both are quality built reels

Both are quality built reels but in my opinion the Fin Nor is more suited to your style of fishing, not that you'll be disappointed in the Tyrnos.

If I were you though I would jump all over that Saltiga z30 in the classifieds. It really is a brilliant reel.

if its simply a bottom bouncer i'd  go something small and palmable ive got a tyrnos 16 and its perfect, mates have 20/30 tyrnos and there to heavy good for trolling but hold one all day no thanks all you need for bottom bouncing is 300meters of braid jmo.

 marquessa for the bottom due

Mon, 2012-11-26 20:52

marquessa for the bottom due to the ratio, tyrnos for trolling for the capacity, i have both and they are a great reels for what i use them for. 700m of 15 on the Tyrnos 30 and 300m or 50lb on the Marquesa 20, match the rod to the 50lb jig stick they make and it's a great BB outfit.

I have 500m of fins 50lb on my marquesa.  I use it for BB and trolling if need be but in hindsight as a BB reel I could have easily got the next size or 2 down, but I got the 20 for a very good price.

heres the line specs, 500m is over kill for most trailer boat BB

If I was to buy another BB O/H I wouldnt even consider something that didnt have a narow spool
