Awesome! I've just booked
Awesome! I've just booked next year to take my 13 and 14 year old boys up there for their first northern adventure. Well done Fish-on you'll never forget that adventure. Long Tom was the first fish I ever caught up north at Quobba lol.
Love the West!

Cleaning below high tide mark?
I see the boys cleaning fish on the boat, prohibited if the rules are the same at Gnaraloo as they are at Ningaloo,,which they are. ( yeah, I know, ive done it myself
, didn't realise fisheries were watching me from beside a sand dune
) Anyway, apart from that, good on the boys for taking someone out, some good fish.

Ok, looks like I am out of date on this
After being contacted privately by a couple of forum members querying my above statement, looks like I was wrong. As I never fillet or process at sea, I hadn't bothered to keep up to date on that particular aspect of the regs. I was pulled up once by Fisheries for cleaning on the boat at Winderabandi Point--not " above the high water mark" as was required, and let off with a warning. Not that it will change anything for me--I never leave skin on a fillet, so I'll be sticking with the old ironing board portable cleaning table
on the beach.
