I wish Ben, 10yrs ago I travelled to europe to see them & then in 05 followed a a few shows on the east coast. Hands down the best live act I have ever witnessed & my fav band, alas my other fav band plays in Melb this weekend so something had to give & I will be there.

Hope you enjoy, Jonsi is off the richter for talent

Yeah heard heaps about them so can't wait for it.  I was just getting into them when they were over here last so I've been waiting a while.

Not sure if you've seen but they've brought out a new song and inserted that into the setlist, it's pretty cool... very different to Valtari, bit more like some of their earlier stuff.

Who you off to see?

The violin bow on the bridge

Mon, 2012-11-12 22:23

The violin bow on the bridge is something to behold especially when playing their earlier tracks, are amina playing also? Those girls are also amazing. Ágætis byrjun remains my all time fav record & the Wife & I got married to Starálfur. I am guessing you are also a Boards of Canada & Múm fan??

Off to Radiohead, I cannot wait however Sigur & Belvoir... jealous. Perth Concert Hall was amazing but outdoors will win hands down

As far as I know it's only Dark Horses who are supporting them.  Haven't heard any of their tunes other than a couple of tracks on YouTube, they seem okay.

(Edit: Just checked up on who Amiina were - now I'm more educated I believe they are touring with SR, the footage I've seen of this tour has had the whole group there including a few people on brass for songs like Hippopolla.  Didn't realise the girls did their own music, will have a look into them. A couple of them are a bit foxy I reckon, they look great in Heima)

Haven't come across Mum but have a few BOC albums, they're pretty cool.  Music Has The Right To Children is always good for some tripped out beats that get nowhere but keep you involved the whole time.

Agree on Agaetis, () is a close second though.  We'll have to compare notes next week mate, hope it goes well over east.

There is Amina & Amiina, a few of the girls are (or used to be) partners with some of the boys, they really make the live show with their backing. Amina's EP Animamina is absolutely cracking & they use some pretty inventive household items for instruments.

Have a look at 'Efterklang' for similar genre, sure you will enjoy but SR are the kings
