cant help you on that one steve, but im fairly sure it would be. ive been there in worse weather and its been open.

I was there last night
I was there last night and it was open.... It may have been the extreme winds that blew the gates open... it was closed about 2 weeks ago when I went down there

Probably for Safety Reasons to stop dickheads taking risks
With the conditions as they have been it only makes sense to those who understand risk.
