Singapore Help
Submitted by Lucky Tim on Sun, 2010-06-13 21:12
Hi all
Hayley and I are taking a short trip to Singapore in August (only staying 2 nights) and need some help with where to stay. We'll be mainly shopping, maybe a visit to the zoo so probably a city motel would suit. A room is only somewhere to sleep and shower so no need for the trimmings, just somewhere clean and tidy within walking distance to the tackle shops-Beach Rd I am told!
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I'll also be looking for some tackle store help later on, but want to get the room booked for now.
Cheers
Tim

I can probably fix you up with a board-member's parent's house?

You want cheap and easy
You want cheap and easy access, look for the Seven Story Hotel. Clean and no frills, walking distance to the tackle shops.
Also Golden Landmark, more expensive, but still cheap buy main street standards, but almost no frills. Abit closer to tackle shops.

I stayed at Quincys Hotel
I stayed at Quincys Hotel last year. Very nice place but not super cheap. Public transport is pretty good so its not hard to get to beach road. Plus IMO there is nicer areas to stay than the beach rd area(not to stay its not good for some fishing shop raiding though!)

Not much time there!
Your wife isn't getting much shopping time with only 2 nights! Try Ibis on Bencoolen st. Parkroyal Kitchener Rd is supposed to be a bit cheaper than Parkroyal Beach Rd. There are a few Hotel 81's and Fragrance Hotels around that area. Have a look at the reviews on Trip Advisor to get an idea. Have fun!

Make sure to do the night safari at the zoo. Well worth it.
