snorkell and gidgie locations in the metro

Hi guys,
After dragging out the snorkell gear for the abalone season I am now inspired to get busy with the gidgie. I was wondering if some of you can point me in the right direction on where some good spots are to snorkell and gidgie a few fish? Metro area or just out of would be ideal and somewhere there aren't too many sharks sighted. hahaha.
Any particular beaches or in shore reefs that you could recommend would be much appreciated.
Hope you all get plenty of great new fishing gear for christmas

Jeez metro locations off the beach is a hard one. Not sure how many beaches you would actually be able to.
Up from two rocks there would be some pretty good locations I would imagine and if I was landbased would prob concentrate around that area
