(SP) Dirty dozen

Well with a trip planed to the deep water tomorrow,we headed out to get some bait. Wind was around 18knots so we anchored up for some herring .We picked up a dozen herring and then headed out for some whiting. The wind dropped within minutes and the call was made to hit a small lump in 28m The crew Jody,Jesse, and Lee,stuck the plastics on As I positioned the boat over the lump fish were showing on the sounder with a large school blocking out the bottom echo..we droped the first sp in at 11:45 and were on the way back to the marina 45 minutes later. 12 dhuies from 2-8kg were caught All on the soft plastics god they were smashing them as soon as they hit the bottom.pink, green, red ,white dhuies were on the bite .we kept 2 for the dinner table and all others were released ,no fish required a release weight.

Well that just opens so many questions. Was it the sp was it the day was it just your usual skill of finding the fish? Have u fished this spot with baits before Paul. U never cease to suprise me Paul everything we can do u do so much better. Well done mate that is a top effort what rods where u all using have u invested in jigging rods yet or did u get them all on bottom bashing gear. Love the photo of the young fella holding a Jew while someone in the background is hooked up. Well done again and know I really can't wait to get out on sat and christen my new sp outfit.

Yeah Paul

Neil and I where out with dazza today. Found dhuies everywhere, mostly undersize.

Had the 2 10kg ones onboard early and went in search of something else.. good school on the sounder out in 38 but it was all little dhuies. Moved another 100 meters and found another school...little dhuies again. Did get four others between 60/70 but they, like the rest all went back..

Couldnt find a snapper/baldie/blackarse anywhere???

Champagne Fishing Paul

Well done team on what can only be descibed as awe inspiring fishing.

Those Mcarthy SP's look the goods for sure.

We went out on Wednesday and blanked out. All our dhuies were undersize, the biggest was 49cm.

We got a good feed of whiting and Blackarse but the big fish eluded us. Plenty on the sounder but nothing biting on bait. I said to my crew that we should have used jigs in hindsight to stirr them up a bit. Nevermnd, next time.

I think I'm going to get me some pearls for the next trip (works a treat for Jody).
