Spinning Steep Point
Submitted by moondyne on Sun, 2013-03-17 14:35
gday guys, heading up to steep with mates at the end of the month. will be our first trip up there and cant wait.
what rod would you recommend for spinning the point? looking for something to match with a penn applause and 30lb braid.
heard the demon blood is an ideal fit, but are there any other cheaper alternatives now on the market?
any other tips regarding fishing and camping the point would be also be much appreciated.
cheers!

what reel do you have?
Hey mate, I have the T-Curve 15-24 spin rod and had it matched to a fin nor 8000 which I don't like all that much and never had a good cast with the rod so was just wondering what size reel you used???

Steep point spin stick
Hi mate the Demon bloods are great sticks, Though if you want something a bit cheaper than we suggest going the Eupro Cyclone 10' 2 pce. Rated 17-40lb it will handle 30lb nicely. Its graphite so it is nice and light so casting with it all day is easy. That one we can do for $145 FW price. We do have other low to mid price options instore too. When up fishing on the cliffs just be sure to take a cliff gaff/rope gaff as it will make retrieving fish alot easier.
