squid cockburn sound

Hi I am going squidding on monday with the old mans runabout I was going to try in front of the old power station is this a good spot never have tried squidding before.
Does the price of jigs equate to catch numbers and are certain colurs or weights better than others ?

good place to start.
and try buying a spread of colours sussing out which is producing on the day. depending on the drift will determine the weight of jig to use.

Look for broken ground, weed
Look for broken ground, weed / sand, preferably no deeper than 4 m otherwise you wont get the jig near the bottom. You want to keep the jug as close to the bottom as you can without picking up weed. Colour wise, brighter colours in low light, morning / evening, natural colours in brighter light, ie middle of the day. Monday is going to be pretty sunny. So more natural colours I would recommend.

Price is not the problem size and colurs on the day is inportant !
I use cheap gear and do very well in the sound on my jigs !

Pretty sure squid don't read
Pretty sure squid don't read price tags so price of a jig doesn't mean anything. Like Big Tuna said size & colour are way more important on any given day.

ditto. a good spread of colours more important. ive found orange and pink to be my most productive on most days, overcast moreso but generally i catch more on them all over...goodluck
