I like to cast out with
I like to cast out with jiggs in the wieghts 2.5 to 4gm and let them slowly drift down to the bottom. Once it reaches the bottom slow sharp twiches back work well for me. Colours that work best are bright pinks, oranges, greens and yellows in that order. The red head pattern in the SWLab catfish squid jigs are awsome as well and becoming my favorite for squid. If you are fishing from a boat i find drifting over patches with a pasternoster rig work best keeping the lure in the strike zone while moving along! 1 metre trace from the dropper loop to a snapper lead, dropper must be 40cm long to the jig. tie off to a swivel to main line. Cheers.
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

i also find berly and chum
i also find berly and chum works well, we've had luck on squid jigs and ocy jigs with a dead fish. but if you get on to a nice weedy patch cast and retrive works well and a twitch of the rod make em more eager
