Squid metro

Any squid being caught metro LB? Hoping to head out sometime this week. Fairly new to squidding so don't know many spots.

oh and a quick question, what pound mainline and leader do you use for squidding?

Basic

 Hey mate,

For squidding you can use a really basic setup and be just as successfull as someone who has spent a lot of $$$. Just need any weight rod really; 1-3kg flicky rod, 1000 or 2500 size reel, anything from 5lb-10lb mainline and then I tend to use a 15lb leader for a little bit of strength in case the jig gets stuck on weed/rocks so you can still give it a good pull. The one area that you should invest a little bit of coin in is the actual jig itself - get a couple different colours and a mix of 2.5-3.5 weight jigs (start with a couple and your collection will steadily grow). Look for ground anywhere from 2m-8m with patchy ground and you should be all good. Hope it helps.
