SS175H-W airmar transducer

just getting a new boat built and am putting a 587 sounder on her, was looking at a M260 transducer but it is a sealed foam filled hull so for maintenance purposes have opted out of this option and looking at a SS175H-W.

The SS175H-W is a single frequency chirp transducer with a 25 deg beam, I will probably rarely fish deeper than 100mtrs so not much need for low frequency.

Anyone run one of these trannys or has any experience with them.

Might need some expert advice

I thought the Furuno CHIRP black box only communicated with the MFD displays, and not sure it would be compatible with the non-chirp 587, or have I missed a Furuno update?

Expert advise

this tranny was recommended by ch smith so I take it that it is compatible with the 587.

Will double check though before I purchase if that is how I decide to go.

I think it is compatable, but

I think it is compatable, but will obviously only rn at 200 kHz, not chirp. I heard it works well.

The low frequency does not work as well as the 175L is best at 42 kHz that the 587 cant do.

I run the ss264 trannys and absolutly love them you could just run one of them if you wanted. You can get some great deals online if you do some shopping around. The hull truth has some great info on sounders and transducers and also some suppliers that will sell them. Pm me if you want a bit more info.

Cheers
