Stealth Marine Antenna reviews?

Hi Crew

I want to run a few antenna's on my boat I have 27meg, AM/Fm radio and am looking to get a VHF in the future.  At the moment I am running my radio and 27meg off the same antenna via a splitter box and find the reception to be average when both are plugged in.

As a solution and so I dont have 3 antennas I was thinking of keeping the 27 meg on its own antenna and when I get a VHF intall its own antenna and use one of these stealth antennas for my am/fm radio

Has anybody had any experience with these?  They are cheap enough just to buy one and see what happens but I thought I would ask first

cheers

My preference would be for each radio to have its own antenna rather than shared just in case you get in to trouble.

Aesthetics are one thing but safety should be the deciding factor.

antenna

Agree 100% canarvonite and thats why I want to seperate my am/fm from the 27meg.  So I can just run the 2 mast antennas individually for 27meg and VHF then just have the stealth one along my dash out of the way.

Thanks for confirming Scottnofish that they work

Rig,Stand-alone antenna

Rig,

Stand-alone antenna are best from my perspective - reduces the chance of interference and damage!

Have you thought of the simple option of using your boat (or fittings) for the FM/AM antenna? I've got mine connected to the bowrail (fibre boat/ss bowrail) and it works a treat.  Means I only have 2 antenna sticking up.  It's as simple as striping back the coax and clamping between a washer and the through-hull nut/bolt from the bowrail.  Equally you could use your rocket launcher or similar.

I haven't heard of that, my whole boat is ali.  Does that make a difference to stainless??

Rig,I'm not sure - I've

Rig,

I'm not sure - I've always had fibre boats with stainless fittings so never had to worry about it

I guess you could try and if it doesn't work add the extra antenna later.  Others here might have an opinion/experience with similar on ali boats.

Electrolisis

Hooking it up to your ali boat is like inviting electrolisis to a huge feast. Creating an electrical circuit through the hull is something to be avoided at all costs.
