Both reels are absolute top
Both reels are absolute top of the line bits of gear mate, both brands will do the job!
I am a daiwa man, and I have a Saltiga S-Extreme 6500... so saltiga all the way for me.

Was thinking around 30
Was thinking around 30 lb. Since I'm one of the old school stubborns still using mono. Would probaly load it up with some braid and edumicate myself. Hadn't thought about the rod side of things more research required but probaly something about 8'.

Ahh see thats the annoying thing - you probably want the stella 6k, but thatis JDM-only. You can also get it in a range of different gearings, but again only from overseas!
