Suggestions for new boat

I am currently considering selling/trading my 5.5m plate ally Raider runabout and buying something with a fibreglass hull, mainly because i'd like something that will give a smoother ride. I've had a look around on the various boat sales websites and there seems to be so much out there that i don't know where to start so I'm hoping some of you fishwrecked members could help me out with some reconmendations on whats good and whats crap. The only criteria I have is:

$35000 to $40000 budget

prefered 4 stroke

5.5m-6.5m length

deck space for up to 4 fisherman

runabout, walkaround or centre console style (i don't really need anything with a cuddy cabin but I may still consider it)

big enough to take about 20 - 25 nm offshore

I want to stay dry when the wind picks up and the ocean gets a bit rough.

I'm really not that fussy, I just want to avoid buying a lemon so any ideas would be much appreciated. cheers

Get a yank boat, you will get a good boat for that budget. If you want to stay dry shy away from the centre console as they don't offer much protection if the wind picks up.

thanks for your help, i will let you know how I go. I've been having a good look around and it seems there is plenty to choose from this time of year. I had a look at the chivers seamaster last week with the intention of buying it but if was a few hours too late, it had just been sold.
