Sump full of fuel

 Hi all.

The sump in my yammy f50 is full of fuel anyone had this happen before.

Placcy tank is normally left connected and the valve closed when not in use and never had problems before. I'm guessing the tank has pressurised and pushed a heap of fuel through the carbies or maybe the fuel pump diaphragm. Only found out as when the motor was started the motor was running rough and really smoky and then cut out so lifted the cowling and there was fuel everywhere pulled the dip stick out and it came pouring out.

Now to find out how badly damaged the motor is.

Any ideas from anyone.

Cheers

Rod

 Fuel pump diaphram is

Fuel pump diaphram is probably gone. Take the bolts out holding it on to the motor , pull it out of the block and pump the bulb. If its that bad it should come straight out through the seal. It is common. But usually only a small leak.

Thermostat blocked?

Possible, reason behind this is thermostat is locked open causing engine to run cold, and engine running rich to compensate and oil then is diluted from overich fueling. This was what had happen to mine, noting this is a F100 yamaha fuel injected version. :)

 This is what happened to

This is what happened to mine. A piece of anode got stuck in the thrmostat.  The mechanic told me if the pump seal goes it will fill the whole motor.  The fuel in the oil dried the bottom crank seal out and it started leaking. Six hundred bucks later as its a powerhead removal and motor split to replace the seal. Motor does have 2000hrs on it though.

Well it's not the fuel pump

Well it's not the fuel pump it looks more like a carby issue cylinder 2 and 4 are full of fuel dropped off at the mechanics now so will see what it is.
