Sunday sexy weather

Wow! How good does Sunday look, low swell and light winds. I'll be at it early and out wide, thank god I don't have packed ramps to contend with. Who's punching out?

Got the inlaws friends coming
Got the inlaws friends coming from Scotland and he wants to catch some barramundi haha.
After telling him it's about a 15hr drive he wants to catch 'something big' (he fishes for trout in Scotland) and the weathers looking good to take him out. Got a spot about 13m out of Mindarie where we've caught some monster sambos. Bwahaha

On your knees!
Haha had a relly come from tassy a few years back and a gentle trickling stream , fishing for docile trout was his total experience , a elderly bloke whose wife asked me to take it easy on him.
Well the forecast looked good , but rapidly turned sour , and by 9am we were battling a screaming easterly off two rocks , in a smallish boat ( well within its safe working wind but) and had him hooked up too a rampaging mackerel , and yes had him on his knees at the back of the boat!
By lunchtime we were home with the mack , he was bruised, salt drenched, and had a smile you could bottle!.
So yeah a sambo sounds about right.

Sunday
hmmmm not looking as good as it was, winds from the north which usually shuts the fish down, generally a falling barrometer. Got to be in it to win it though !
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

weather
Does anyone ever find the wind predictions to be correct. We have planned to go out at Carnarvon cos it claims to be gentle easterly and it has howled from the south at 30 plus knots all day.Same as my local beach at Trigg claims to be easing and swinging se in the late afternoon and blows a huge southerly and gets worse.I look on surf cam to see what is going on and it is rarely what is predicted. This is BOM and solunar and willy weather.Perhaps its to hard to pick with out stepping out side and looking.Fortunatly my home office looks out over the park and I can see by the trees what is happening. My mate drives up from Armadale cos I tell him its time and conditions are great and we end up getting sand blasted.I always thaw out some snapper so I can gaurantee I can feed him regardless.
just do it.

Better be good weather
Well, Sunday better be decent weather! I'm back to a 7 day working week as of Monday so it'll be my last chance to fish until Easter!
Andy, if it turns out you cursed Sunday's weather, you're bringing me back fresh fish from up North! Lol

Conditions looked good at the beach but a northerly rip started and was so strong my biggest star sinker just bounced along the bottom.Fish dont like fighting strong currents so no fish tonight.Try again soon

Try find holes and eddies
Try find holes and eddies where the current is weaker or non existent. This is where most of the food will end up and the fish will sit

Saw a lot more people coming back than going out this morning, it was quite ordinary out there it seemed.

Monday is out of the question now, 30+kmh all day, Wednesday and Thursday look the goods now, gives me a bit more time into planning the downfall of a Mackie or pinkie perhaps

You'd be happy pulling an all nighter tonight, there hardly an ounce of wind down this way.

was good
Was great down south trigg beach.Lots of anglers waiting for the swimmer/surfers to go then into it.Caught a herring straight up and thought here we go but apart from a few taps that was it.no one else I spoke to caught anything.Real nice conditions but the sea floor was flat as I waded out in a few spots and watched people in the water and there was no holes or gutters.I may look at getting an outfit that can cast a long way and try to get out past the outer surf break
just do it.

Look into slide baiting,
Look into slide baiting, makes it a lot easier to get reasonable baits out a long way once you get the hang of it. Its not easy to get into at first tho and takes a fair bit of patience
