That would be a little too
That would be a little too much rod for a TAC8, more like the TAC20II, Accurate BX-2 30N or SOM L120. Its rated max pe10, best pe5-8, max drag 22kg, best drag 8-18kg.
I think they're around $750NZ?

are these guys the first to do that with the guides??
whats the point of it??
looks strange but interested to see how they go on the biggies.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Acid & Antacid wrap.
Synit certainly didn't originate spiral wrapping, but certainly they did extend the concept. At the minimum, it prevents tip wrap.
They claim that their bizzare guide array not only helps prevent tip wrap, but helps line lay as well. The small stripper keeps it pretty central, the oval guide zeros the angler introduced by the spiral and the rest is pretty regular acid wrap.
Keen to give it a go when the weather breaks and there are some big sambos around to hit it.

bend test
I needed to put a bit more bend in it, hard to gauge when you're just picking the weights up and not taking the pics. Plus, unlike Sam, I had to worry if my gut was sticking out.
I thought my black/grey outfit complimented the NZ heritage excellently ;)

Jamie, 27 lb isn't even 15kg of drag. When are you going to start stacking some real weights on there?

ok , the rods can hold that
ok , the rods can hold that weight but how would they stack up against a 30 40 or 50 kg fish or shark. a rod can perform totally different when loaded up with a big fish if the drag hasnt been set up right

Static load tests are
Static load tests are designed to show other anglers the progressive curve of the blank and taper of the blank at certain weight increments.

Thanks Sam, not just a
Thanks Sam, not just a pretty face!
I ran out of weights and lets face it, you're seeing what the rod is going to do at load with 27lb on it!
In fact, to quote Synit's Graeme Paterson;
If you wish to go 15kg that's fine but if you want to go to the max drag setting of the rod we recomend to use a fish simulator rather than a dry lift test as we have found flaws in dry lifts for max drag tests. We are lucky and have access to a $20,000 simulator at Decoro's in Tauranga, it will simulate anything from a 30kg Kingfish to a 300kg Marlin so we can rate our rods on fish not anchors. On the test machine you are positioned away from the machine so you get the correct line angles verses the position of the angler, they are the great machines and this one will test angler, rod, reel and line at the same time.

Im a big fan of Synit rods
Im a big fan of Synit rods as they have proven to be extremely versatile. Got lots of high end sticks in my quiver but the Synit always makes the trip with me. Can't wait for the next generation of rods from Synit.

Jamie Synit has two series
Jamie Synit has two series of jigging rods before the Deepshot. He has a Synit Venom series and before that is that is the Grey Ghost Series.

I see the Venoms on the US
I see the Venoms on the US sites, I wasn't sure if Synit was running them and the Deepshots together for the different markets.

The Venom Is an older series
The Venom is an older series, the Deepshot is more parabolic compared to the Venom and there is no Kevlar butt reinforcement, instead there is a 3K carbon weave running 2/3rds up the blank. This gives the Deepshot more lifting power and allows you to run more drag than the Venoms.
