Tackle Shops in Karatha
Submitted by snodger on Fri, 2011-07-15 20:19
Hi Fella's,
My first post here.
I am heading up to Karatha for work and was wondering if the tackle shops there are open Sundays? (my days off).
I was wanting to set myself up with an alround spinning rod & reel combo for land based fishing at places like the causeway and creeks for Barra or whatever will take a lure or plastic up that way (may set up for livies later on when I am more settled in).
If anyone there has some 2nd hand gear for sale I would also be interested.
Cheers

Theres only one
Adventure sports and its big store is open but the other option up here is Kmart ,they both have a very big range. Not many sell gear up here that hasnt been punished so watch what you find if you go to the garage sales.
There are two types of people ,do'ers and watchers
Right now the do'ers are the doing it
And the watchers are watching us do it

the rpice can be a little
the rpice can be a little rich too at Adventure Sports but they are willing to do deals also and they'll go within 10 or so bucks of matching Campbells in Perth so get a price online if you know what you want and see what they can do, they have a bloody good range really, it's our own BCF and i never walk out empty handed or with just what i went in there to buy
Las Vegas - Rolling the dice and trying your luck. 1M+ Barra summer target. 100kg Black Marlin winter target

Jease that could be a killer
Jease that could be a killer for me with nothing much bar work & fishing to do up there.
I have the same problem with BCF here in Toowoomba. Very rare I get out the door empty handed.

Adventure Sports has a mega
Adventure Sports has a mega store and a smaller shop across from the swimming pool. Mark, the big fella who works in the smaller shop is a good bloke and quite knowledgable. Have a good chat with him - he likes to talk.
Maybe you could purchase some of your gear and bring it up with you. If you only get one day off in a week, you dont wanna be mucking around at the shops.

Thanks for that.I am bringing
Thanks for that.
I am bringing a box of lures and an Advantage 4000. Figured I would just by a rod to match and wouldnt be in the shop that long with luck.
I do have to get some plastics as well.
When I get settled in up there I will sort out some stuff for getting livies.

Well I have considered price
Well I have considered price and everything and have decided to bring my Egrell S1, Bear and Curado E5 over. I will just have to see how much of a pain it is carting rods around the place every few weeks.
Thanks for your help fellas.
