Take Care driving

For those who are driving please take extra care and arrive safe at your destination.
I have had the misfortune to tow the car in from the Blowhole road yesterday afternoon where the young bloke was killed and again early this morning , a ute and boat of young couple heading down for their break when they cleaned up a cow not far from town. Luckily the couple and their toddler were not hurt but the car is wrecked and the boat trailer is badly damaged, they are the lucky ones when the parents of the teenager and his mates are missing a son and friend, gone for ever.

There was a bad accident on Indian Ocean Drive last Wednesday 4x4 towing a van both rolled, don't know what happened to the occupants.
Indian Ocean Drive has been insane for about 5 to 6days just past, just can't believe the amount of people take off for Easter, school holidays and then you have the grey nomads heading north for our winter. Just wish the grey nomads would not smell each others fumes as its so damn hard to over take 3 caravans with no space if you have to move in. Since 6.00am this morning Indian Ocean Drive has been a Freeway so many cars heading north.

so damn sick of people sniffing my fumes when I go from Leeman to Jurien to do shopping. All it needs is a kangaroo to jump out andthey are kissing my ass, unfortunately I hit one in the old Hilux doing 110klms god they certainly slow you down even though the bull bar took the shock. Thank god nobody was up my ass coming back from Dongara, poor skippy was dead when we stopped to pull it off the road, old fart was going to put it out of its misery but it was gone.
I've seen 4 damn grey nomads so close to each other, all one needed was a blow out and good by charlie to 4 cars and 4 vans, not including who ever else they may wipe out. Idiots overtaking on double white lines, overtaking on bends or crest of a hill.
Think most of us could write a book on idiots on country roads.

It seems so much worse along
It seems so much worse along the more narrow stretches of the Indian Ocean drive before you turn onto the Brand Highway. There is practically no room for error.
From north of Cervantes, I watched a blue Commodore tail me for a bit (I was behind another car) then get antsy and try and rip round both of us...only thing was there was a modified, widened intersection up ahead around a slight bend, you know then ones with large white lines to indicate turning lanes and what not. So there he is going down the middle of the road across the white striped lines and all that. Fuck me I thought, what an impatient idiot and damn lucky no one wanted to be turning off it. I ended up catching up to him way past Cervantes when he found himself behind a road train and here he did some really stupid stuff, as in sitting RIGHT up the trucks arse. Here I saw him twice try and pull out and see if anything was coming (because he was too close) only to suddenly veer back in as another car whizzed past. I was thinking that someone at some point would have to scrape this bloke and his family (plus the unfortunates coming the other way) off the road. Was very dodgy stuff. Can only imagine what the trucky was thinking.

Yep you need good lights up there if travelling at night
Gday John, Mabye a couple of Hella spotties with 100w hid may have saved that hitting a cow accident. Brick House has at times a few stray cattle grazing just to the side of the highway. Care must be taken as far down as Wooramel

Big lights
He had big lights on and only travelling at 80km, said he didn't see it till 20 metres in front when it came out of the scrub.
Roughly 300 metres towards town from Gassy Junction turn off. No sign of it this arvo so probably belly up in the scrub now.
He is a Fishwrecked member from Hedland on his way down to Leeman with his family, got the boat trailer sorted this morning and his father drove up to pick them up so they are off on their way minus car, that will be sorted during next week,
At least they are all ok, the car can be replaced people can't!

Went for a look at the back
Went for a look at the back of the lives factory last night, was expecting a few people to be there. But counld'nt believe the amount of fishos and traffic around town.
Saw some very unusual rigs ,hope some got a feed. I went home and hid waiting for the masses to go home. And yes I no the huge influx of people into towns are good for the economy .Good luck to all and a safe trip home .
