Tantabiddi Boat Ramp Question

Guys

Heading up Exmouth in a couple of weeks just wondering if anyone has any updated info on the state of the ramp at Tantabiddi. I know it was pretty well unusable after the rains a week or so ago has this improved at all?

The last photo I had seen looked like the old days at low tide with the hole at the end of the ramp and plenty of sand to get to it.

Cheers

take a snatch strap with you

take a snatch strap with you incase you come in on a real low tide so you can drag it over the sandbar. make sure you use the northern ramp, southern one is too shallow and soft

Just got back from Exmouth, still need to skull drag on a low tide at tandabiddi, or wait out for the rising tide.  Came in the other day on a low tide, northern ramp had about a 100mm cover and the southern ramp was a sand bar.  There is no reason why an excavator couldn't be digging out both ramps at a low tide, getting near the ramp is not a problem

Update on ramp

Sat, 2014-05-31 06:59

Have a mate up there at the moment that sent through some photos. Ramp is really shallow got back to the ramp three hours before low tide and had to drag his four meter quinny to the southern ramp as there was not enough water to float it. North side was not much better slightly more water guys with a five meter plate boat having similar issues to get it out. Right on low tide would not be an option either side looking at the photos.

We where there for 2 weeks

We where there for 2 weeks and only 2 days did the tides play a part. Check the tide chart. Only when its under .8 on a low when retreving will you have issues.  We pushed a 5.3 across the sand water 2 hours after low with the help of other boaters. We all helped each other and we got out no problems.

Were coming back for 3months,

Im keeping my fingers crossed.Been looking forward to our long service fishing trip. All the planing that goes into this kind of trip Sydney to Exmouth return.

I don't mind draging my 6m platly as long as the winch eye can handle it.My bigger worry is that my Lowrance Transducer is in a fixed position.

I distroyed my old one, before the new ramp was commissioned.

Through a lot of soul searcing on ebay in the USA.I finally found a replacement transducer.LMS 350A.

Were's that excurvator,July holidays will turn off a lot of short termers and the Ecomomy for the town when the place fills to the MAX through winter.

I was putting my 6m glass boat in from tantas everyday, just watch the tides as has been said previously, if you come in on a low under .8m just be prepared to wait a while.  Unless your heading out to north west reef or the Murions I wouldn't be launching from bundegi

Ok cheers for the info guys. Always better to play safe then look like the idiot on the ramp everyone talks about!!  We looked at the tide charts and get two days where we could spend some quality time out there before being at the ramp so we will see what happens.   Tight lines!!!!
