Thailand Charters?

G'day guys.
My mate is going over to Thailand next week. He was wondering if there where any decent enough charters worth hitting up?

BBKGuy does some great stuff in the freshwater, find his videos on here or on youtube. This would be a unique experience with a talented guide... just watch him cast a baitcaster !! Im not sure the bluewater stuff in Thailand is all that worthwhile..

My wife and I went on a charter over there and met some great people on board and ended up getting pissed as well. Didn't touch a fishing rod all day. Was the best charter I have been on. I think the deckie pulled in a few mack tuna but can't remember much.

freshwater ponds
I have seen on tv a few times, that there is freshwater fishing dams. You can catch monsters from all over the world..... Something different to a charter.

Well it doesn't compare to saltwater fishing, it's a whole different experience. It's actually a restaurant with a pond and the most awesome fishing shop. Expect to spend up to 100 bucks, not cheap but fish in style. Get a fishing guide abt 30 bucks for a day. He baits and makes up all the rigs. U sit back and drink Heineken longnecks for 3 bucks all day, get awesome food. When he hooks up a fish he lets you reel it in. Great place for a few mates as you can hire a aircond bungalow to fish from. Like everyone else you'll end up pissed :) can check out my vid on u tube look under the dude snaps his rod

I just go back from there ay. There's alot of charters over there. As long as you don't go out expecting to catch a marlin and just enjoy the day on the boat Havin a few beers you will be right. It's quite funny tho they show you these nice pictures of flash boats with big tiagras and big marlin and then you get there and your in a boat that's looks likes it would be better off for people smuggling lol. Just do a search on trip advisor.com and you will find some good reviews etc about the good ones and the bad ones. Good luck with it! By the way the scuba diving over there is really good!

Went on one a couple of years
Went on one a couple of years back with a group of blokes out from Phuket. Was a good day out, with plenty of piss (seems there is a common theme here). We just trolled lures all day, hoping for sailfish. Hooked into a heap of tuna which the crew cooked for us for lunch. Saw one sailfish swimming on the surface and circled it for 20 minutes trying to get it to strike (it didnt).
Great day out with the boys though.
