5.2m with a 90l tank Pete, been well past rotto on plenty of occassions, need to get the weather right and slowly work your way out before doing the big trip.

Good idea to hook up if you can, but your boat should be fine on a good day.

Probably not a bad idea come spring. Get a few of us together for a run and a fish near the island. Mine's only 5.4m and would piss rotto in on a reasonable day.

Yep.  I've got a 5.2 with 90l and a 115 2 stroke.  Been to rotto plenty!  Easy trip, just be cautious of swell and reef when heading in and out.  I only use about half a tank as well.

If anyone is keen come the jigging season, don't think they are secret spots so would be good to do one day. Long way, like the safety aspect.

If anyone wants to set a date /departure point / planned activity (Fish or Quokka Arms), I'd be keen to go along.  Have been a few times in larger boats, but not this boat.

edit: Sunday is looking pretty good :)

Sunday 7 July
Winds
East to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots decreasing to about 10 knots during the afternoon.
Seas
1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre during the morning.
Swell
Southwesterly around 1 metre.

looking at that it appears as though it's going to blow it's guts out....  I probably wouldn't head over in that personally.  But i'd check the report again tomorrow afternoon and decide then.

have fun for those that decide to go across.
