Sherbs ive heard of rumors about cougars in there coz 2 escaped from a circus a very long time ago or sum shit

im not surprised about these things anymore, the amount of wierd stuff that happens these days. woulda been a shock to see it!

I beleive you Sherbs I have seen a big cat myself and I know what I saw despite the persons that doubt me.  Mine was here in SA about 15 years ago when I was travelling from Loxton in the riverland to Swan Reach and about ten k's out of swan reach when a tan cat walked across the road about 100m in front of me.  This was no feral cat unless it was on mega steriods as it was 1 metre tall and at least two metres long.  Definately a cat and no dog or other animal, and it had that slinky cat walk.  The ex girlfriend of the time was asleep next to me with a migrane and she kept swearing at me when I woke her yelling about the cat.  I pulled up right next to where it crossed and couldn't see it but there were enough bushes etc for it to hide in.  I know I was not about to get out and go looking for it (here nice pussy!!)

A number of other persons have also reported seeing similar large black cats in the Flinders Ranges as well.

P.S. I have seen plenty of feral cats and I know what I saw on his occasions was no feral not even a large one.  If it stood up it would have been taller than me and I'm 6'3".  Tan/light brown with quite short fur similar to a female lion in colour and length.  Was definately not a lioness though and more cougar like shaped head.

I have never seen anything stranger than a scrub turkey and a Dingo - both on Mimmengarra Road near Cataby. But i was in a rabbit shooting trip at Badgingarra when someone shot a feral cat as big as a Kelpie - nasty looking bugger.

 ive heard plenty of stories about these and seen 3 myself. there was apparently 2 cougars a male and a female that escaped about 30 years ago from the dizzy lamb park in carrabooda about a year ago i was watching tv and there was a report on 60 minutes about a guy in nsw that had a skin of one but because he shot it in the head the skin couldnt be properly identified, and the ones ive seen 1 was at night crossing a road up near muchea another was riding my motorbike behind yanchep very early in the morning and the third was down south near walpole just after sunset coming back from a surf beach on a 4x4 track. 2 of them where pure black the other was a light tan brown colour and all very big with that smooth cat walk, and yes ive been called crazy or on drugs because of it but i know what i was looking at and they are definatly cats..

 where do we get the stuff your on sherbs, is it left over from the courier run.?

 used to be one down margaret river way , never seen it but i have heard it blood curdling howl in the middle of the night. 

 there have been too many stories of sightings of these big cats all over the place to be just some myth. 

i seen one a few years ago just out of gidgyganup on my aunty's property at first we thought it was a large black dog but as it jumped over a fence we seen it was a cat of about 5ft long.  we drove up to about 20m from it and could see it clear as day and it wasn't scared of us at all.  two nights later she lost 2 sheep and had a cow with some nice claw marks on its neck.  we measured the marks and they would of meant the claw that made them was about 6inches wide

 years ago and years apart in the wheatbelt.I have only seen massive paw prints while shooting with my brother in law.The grandfather chased the one he saw with the farm ute and took a couple of shots at it after it mauled a sheep to death.Dad saw his while driving a tractor between the two farms a large panther looking cat and a very small baby walked across the road in the middle of the day.They have both shot big ferals over the years and have no reason to make things up so i believe until proved wrong.The tracks we saw in the mud at the farm gave us goosebumps and still do when i think about the size of them.We only had a couple of .22 rifles and i dont think we would of stood a chance if it had a go from the bushes.They seem to be very wary of humans from all the reports i have heard except for dads he stopped the tractor and they slowly walked across the road and toward him before going through a hole in the ringlock fence.My old man was scared of nothing but he went pasty white even when he was explaining it years later.The grandfathers one was over 2 feet tall as he could see its shoulders above the crop as it slinked away and it cleared a 4 foot high double barbed wire boundary fence with ease.You are one of a small group that have seen them first hand Sherbs and i can say that most of the sightings if not all are from folks that i have no reason to think they would be on drugs

Never discount anything - i don't believe in Yowies and other such crap but i would not say there could not be some strange things out there. I was heading in to Hedland on the grog and food run from Pardoo about 5-6 years ago and saw a Haulpak tyre in the middle of the road just after the De Grey - but it got up and bolted down the river when i was about 500m away. I have never seen a bigger pig in my life - and just the same i have heard nothing of it since either. Doesn't mean it isn't there still.
