I went for a spear in the Gulf this arvo and pretty much had to be touching the trout to see them and my 1.2m gun was way too long. You could just see the brightest bombies in 3m and had to dive down to see anything below that. On the plus side it is clearing up.
As for the ramp, I won't be launching my 6m boat on tides lower than 0.8m and not even thinking or retrieving below 1m at Tantabiddi.
Hope to head out a little wider over the next few days so will post up a conditions report if I do.

very closely with a boat
very closely with a boat that size, it was super soft once you got off the cement and there's no mats there either. I imagine you'd have the Yardi park to yourself though.

no idea mate, I'd like to
no idea mate, I'd like to think it will get back to the usual blue if we get no more crap weather. I'd imagine the west side will clear up soonish, there was some better water pushing down with a tide the other day out there, mind you it was still green but a hell of a lot better than the inshore green milky colour we'd just come out of
just dhu it

Expect so
One would think it would be. Not long til the AIBT. I reckon some of those maxx trax might be a worthwhile investment.

where have the mats gone
Tantas always had mats / metal tracks . Would think it hard to get in and out without them.

Rusted
Rusted away into nothing and I think the shire has found that its a liability to keep them. People don't return them and they get buried, people cut feet on rusty bits etc etc. They now have a sign up saying larger boats should launch at their own risk, but preferrably elsewhere.
Not sure when the building of the new ramp will start, but I guess that will shut it down from use for quite some time.

Adam, what do you think the chances are of sorting something for that ramp matt wise before the exy comp (If nothing is done prior?)
I'm taking a couple pieces of conveyer belt to port gregory and probably have this in tow with me in exmouth, however it floats. I'd have to work something out to make it sink.
I do have a long trailer tho, so last year when i was up there i never had to put the car off the concrete.

Will wait and see
Tim's out there today so will see if the ramps changed any. It is one sand bar that has build up just over the creek which has creeped onto the ramp. I'm sure they will dredge it for the local comps, so will find out in a week or so.

What if I bring some
What if I bring some Fibreglass tracks down? Should last a bit longer than steel.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Launched at tanta this
Launched at tanta this morning and pulled out at 2.30. Tide would have been just a whisker over a metre by then. By screwing the trailer to the north drove on most of the way and had to winch the last metre, didnt even squeek the tyres pulling out . . . The shire excavator was there digging the sand away this morning and will be back tomorrow finishing it off so all should be good for the comps :-)
Wind was pretty ordinary and the fish didnt want to play much either . . 2 rankins, a red and a spango and dropped a couple of good ones and got reefed a couple of times too.
