Well worth waiting for, to watch the Eagles go down to the Bombers.
It was all right for them to be classed as favourites for the flag when they beat teams on the bottom of the table but now they have to come up against real competition from now on.
I don't hate them , just adore any team that beats them, same goes for the red and white team in the South West league that has Hands oval as its home.

Have a Look at The Injury List
The Bombers had the same number of injured players out plus a couple of players returning to the VFL from injury not available for senior selection.
It was just a good old fashion Arse Wooping, Providing Calton wins today WCE will be second and EFC will be third. Considering EFC has already flogged Carlton and West Coast this year I know who is in better form.

your the supporter clubs hate. while injuries are a prick it goes to show the lack of depth we have how many games are we going to win if we cant play with an injury on the bench. while all our forward line is out you need to get the ball past the midfield to get to them. tottaly out played out classed we kicked like we did a few years ago all round shocking match the easy run has come to and end and i guess well see what were really made off in the coming weeks
p.s essendon had there injury problems aswell and goes to show we still need more game time in the young fellas like brennan and lycett( whos kennedys replacement. big shoes to fill)

Interesting
Eagles have played 2 current top 8 team. Won one lost one
Dockers have played only 2 current top 8 teams. Lost them both.
Final time is the only time that counts. I believe the eagles will be there if there injury list dosn't get any bigger.
I dont believe the Dockers will be. In fact I put a couple of greenbacks at $2:60 at them not making the 8. Easy money I reckon.

Bit quick to say they aren't a top four team lost one game and now they aren't worthy of being top of the ladder???? Jealousy will get u no where. As a eagles supporter it's hard to say this but they did look pretty piss poor but then again essendon was lookin bloody good And would of made any team look bad. No excuses though the better team won on the day. I'm sure Woosha will rip into them and wel see a better team next week. At least the boys will be back to reality after a loss can't win them all. Looking at the ladder looks like Carlton will take top spot if they have a win today. Carlton essendon grand final

Eagle haters
I find it funny to read these eagle knocking comments. We lost to a far better team last night no doubt, But would have been a much closer result had both teams had there full A side in.We did kick like we did a few years ago because we had the same 2nd tier players in.(butler, sheppard, brown,Mcginnity)not knockind these players they just dont have the polish. The eagles problem wasnt there forward line. Take out Priddis,Nic nat,A selwood,Scofield ,Hams and replace them with part timers, of coarse the opposition is going to expose them in defence.Just remember its a long year and september is all that matters, The eagles will be there no doubt, will they go all the way, who knows but with their full side in they are as good as any other team.Theres probably only 3 other teams that I could say that about.Especialy the doorkers(aka the pretenders)Lol

The fact is
that all teams have injuries so it's not necessarily an excuse for being smashed by 10 goals. Essendon have plenty out too.
I think WCE supporters should sit back and realise that their side isn't the top side in the AFL atm. By the looks of things it is Essendon. Shit even Adelaide look good atm.
WCE have had a relatively easy start to the season but you can only play who's in front of you and I dare say you will be better for the loss. Might be the kick in the arse some of you 'B'grade players needed.
Besides, there is 17 rounds to go. Alot can change in that time.

So what's the excuse then Matt?? A side with it's top seven players out is going to suffer. WC is a top 8 side and will be there finals time. When you have to travel east every second week you can't call that an easy run. How are Hawthorn atm???

Interesting
top 7 players??? Pretty sure Cox, Kerr, Glass, Waters, Hurn are all playing. Yes you have a few of your top players out but so do alot of sides. Yeah, no doubt you a top 8 side, probably top 4 but some further improvement will be needed on current form against the stronger teams. Time will tell.
Hawks are going OK, just ticking along. Honestly happy to win games when Hodge and Gibson are out. We're pretty short down back. I'm not holding huge hopes this season, top 6 would be a good result unlike the media who make stupid claims like 'premiership favourites' and crap like that. I went to the game at Subi a few weeks back and it was the worst game i've ever attended. Total rubbish and all the WCE supporters I went with agreed. Not to mention the shithole that is Subiaco Oval, the sooner they build a new stadium the better. But thats a discussion for another time...

You want to Play that Game
Nickoski - C grader who only does any good if he gets the 4th or 5th Defender
Embley - Over the hill and over rated, outside player without the speed or endurance required
Naitanui - Exciting Player but doesn't win you games, still learning the game and over rated at his current level (Couple more years and it will be a different story)
Brown - Who is he? If he was so good surely I would have heard more about him
Kennedy - I'll concede he can't be replaced but the Eagles have more than enought Height to cover for him
LeCras - I'll concede he can't be replaced and I rate him as one of the Eagles best but to win a flag then you need enough dept to cover losses like him
Hams - Diving tosser who was suspended and isn't a guaranteed starter so missing him via suspension is no big deal
Selwood - Diving tosser but also a A grader so the same story as LeCras

The only squid in your list
that would make any difference at this time is Hurley and thats a fact - even football journo's around the country are now saying Hille will find it hard to get back in given what others are doing. At the end of the day your last post is irrelevant -because as it stands at the moment in terms of what the players have been delivering - the eagles are clearly suffering more through the loss of their players than youre spuds - stats dont lie.... I'm still laughing at your Prismall mention - that is some funny s#@t right there - I assumed when you said that you wern't in fact a Bombers supporter, if you are, that entry clearly smacks of desperation.

LOL, your only as good as your last game
So in a perfect world with no injuries the missing West Coast Players would be worth an extra 11 Goals? No Desperation on my side of the fence just the four points that come from a win! Deep down even the most hard core West Coast fan knows they were out played by a better team and injuries are no excuse for rolling over even if they won't admit it but if you look on the bright side you play a disapointing StKilda at home on Sunday which will give you some confidence by beating another low ranked team!

I dont think that eagles supporters think that there the best team in the afl at all, just ONE of the best sides.Dont forget the eagles have tasted both ends of the stick in the last couple of years so SUCK IT up if we appear a bit chirpy. You are right matt the loss might give the 2nd tier players the kick in the arse they need. All teams do have injuries it just seems that the players that are injured at the eagles are keys to our success. Now thats a fact!!

EFC had 13outs against CFC
This isn't an excuse but Essendon had more outs than Collingwood, the fact is that all games between Essendon and Collingwood are very heated affairs and unless one team is top and the other bottom the games tend to be close and more so on ANZAC day. Collingwood completly out played Essendon on the day, there stars were great, they had more of the ball, more inside 50's but yet only one by a point which I think show the quality of the Bombers this year unlike the Eagles who rolled over very early and made it look like a walk in the park.
The Eagles showed no fight and gave up which if I was a eagles supporter would disapoint me more than the loss. The competion is close this year with allot of teams able to win the flag if things go their way and maybe this loss will help the Eagles but if that is the way they are going to play in Melbourne come finals time then all the Eagles will be is a stepping stone for the stronger more committed teams come finals.
As for the argument that the Eagles have to travel every second week always comes up when the start losing but on the other hand they are get to travel more and get use to it and in return they get to play the other half of their games against teams who are not use to travelling which I think is a big advantage plus the Eagles get to play Freo twice a year which is a really big advantage!!!

Never ceases to amaze me...
Eagles get done for the first time and someone starts a thread making ridicule of them. From last to 4th in a season and now 6-1. I like those type of figures. It shows real progress whereas the rest of the field seem to be struggling to match last year's form. Crows are doing OK so far. the Bombers look pretty trim early. The Dorkers are as per normal, good one week and aweful the next.
The Eagles were ripe for the picking last week and most people who understand the game predicted that... even me. We are 1/3 way through the season. Let's see what happens between now and the next 7 weeks then start rubbishing teams in the lead up to the finals. Let's face it.. by then some teams will have given up.

Does it really amaze you? Being a WA based Forum in a state with two teams if one loses and the other wins then without a doubt there will be a new topic on the subject.
This is part of what makes being a footy fan great, you get to rub it in when you win. We all carry on but no matter what I write it is not like a Eagles fan is going to say you know what your right, the Eagles do suck and I am going to support the Bombers now.

Oh when the Saints....
Just goes to show how even the comp is - Saints roll the Blues pretty comfortably to collect their fourth win of the season. Scotty Watters maybe starting a fire under the Sainters, after Ross Lyons mechanical football has transferred to the Dockers. Blues looked half the side they have in the last few weeks. Saints were pretty pumped singing their club song! It's a long season before finals and the extra sides certainly make it harder to determine who'll finish where without a pretty detailed look at the full fixture.

I assume that you are a Collingwood supporter? Interesting that you seem pre-occupied with how another team is going. Also interesting that Collingwood have only played one more 'top 8' team than the Eagles, being Carlton. A game that, of course you will remember, Collingwood lost, as they did against the Hawks. One team the Eagles have beaten. The only leg that I can see you can stand on in your own post is that you beat Essendon. By a solitary point.
Nice side info with your prowess in the tipping. Must be tipping eagles are you?

I tip what team I think will win by the head not the heart as some others do, If you did that and barracked for a bottom side that supposedly will win 3-5 games for the year then you would be throwing something in the region of 16 votes down the gurgler. And no, I didn't pick the Eagles to beat the Bombers.
Sure I follow Collingwood and have done for some 40+ years and not like some didn't jump ship when the Eagles were formed and gifted a premiership a couple of years down the track by the concession they were given. If I were to go for a team over here it would be the Dockers because I have always been a South Freo supporter no other reason.
Not much chance of chardonnay on any boat that I skippered, First rule is NO glass and the other is , cans only.
Good to see someone reads my reports on rescuing yachts, not many others comment on it so I must be doing something right in your eyes.

A "Gifted Premiership" is a term
ofetn used by supporters of other clubs, as a deflection - when they can not acknowledge the many years of favourable draws and generally being looked after by the AFL, it's hard for them to accept that and deal with the ire of others.
As far as Docker supportes go - it's a deflection from the rather touchy subject of failure!!

Mate if you are a true West
Mate if you are a true West Aussie you would get behind one of the WA sides. To say that you cant stand the Eagles or South Bunbury just tells me that you will never be happy unless the champion side is beaten, its called Tall Poppy Syndrome. I followed the Bombers until the Eagles were established only because they had a majority of West Aussie players in their team at the time, the Eagles started up and it was time to start dishing it out to the vics and have been doing it ever since. Do yourself a favour and get behind a WA side.Sorry but i can not comprehend how any West Aussie could possibly follow an Eastern states side. i think you would fit right in down at Dorker land where flags are just a dream but you wont because the Collywoblers are better poised for a flag at the moment.

Sheep
I am not a sheep and never will be, just because someone says you have to give up a team you have followed from the east and barrack for the Eagles, get real, when the Eagles started supporters dropped their teams to "return home" like a mob of sheep
In the SWNFL down south who ever won the Hayward medal for fairest and best for many years in the earlier days you could bet that next year they were in a South Bunbury jumper, same as Carlton and North Melbourne did in the seventies/ eighties. Money talks..

Goats
Played for the under 13s in the 63 grand final, the only Carey Park side that didn't win the flag for the Panthers that year. They got the Goats nickname from getting in to the finals by the equivalent percentage of 1 point, won the first semi by a point, preliminary grand final by a point and grand final by a point. Half the town was painted red and blue including the goal posts.

Normally it's the Freo crowd
Normally it's the Freo crowd that bitch about the early Eagles' success. Speaking of gifted, if Suma hadn't hit the post in 1990 against the toothless bikies, Millane and his boys wouldn't have had the chance to play the Bombers for the flag.....

"Gifted Premierships"- hmmmmm.....
Being the premier in any given year isn't that easy. If you look at the Eagles during the time of the " Super Team" early mid nineties it is worth reflecting on the following information.
1990 - lost to eventual premier - Collingwood in Prelim final.
1991 - lost premiership - Hawthorn in Grand final.
1992 - won premiership.
1993 - lost to eventual premier - Essendon in Semi final.
1994 - won premiership.
1993 - lost to eventual premier - Carlton in Semi final.
Six finals series, 3 grand finals - 2 premierships.
Certainly makes the threepeat of BrisVegas Lions worth noting ( 3wins out of 4 G/Finals in a row) and also the current super team in Geelong Premiers 07,09,011, Runners up 08, knocked out in Prelim Final in 2010 by eventual premier.
Seriously Outwide, Fremantle have made some poor draft choices in the past - most notably the mishandling of Andrew MacLeod- all time Indigneous Superstar for Adelaide & Norm Smith Medallist and the inability to hold onto some early draft picks after their contract has been completed. Players play with the hope of ultimately being successful and at this stage any which way you look at it Fremantle have made limited progress in this area - hence the head hunting of Ross Lyon last year - this action is widely regarded as the same play as Malthouse ws for WCE.

Dipper probably my all time favorite player of this era for the Hawks - Kenny Hunter for Carrrtttonnn - Paul Vander Hah for the Bombers!

5 Gallon Kegs
Classics!!! We used to stick one in the panel van and head to the drive-in theatre. Perfect size. Once they run low you crank up the gas and spray everyone...LOL
