Trailer springs?
Submitted by fords_rule85 on Wed, 2010-09-29 13:11
Hey guys, i have a early 2000 trailcraft 4.7 runabout and am taking it up to steep point in november. What im trying to find out is if the single leaf setup i have on the trailer at the moment is better than multiple leaf springs??? The gear has all been replaced in the last 18 months an looks good but all my previous trailers have had multiple spring setups. Any opinions??? cheers

whats it rated to
what weight are your springs rated to? single springs dont have as much of a corrosion issue as multiple as long as you clean them the main thing for a big trip is not to overload your boat with gear

single springs are great
single springs are great idea mate .. less rust and they are just as strong and easy to carry a spare or 2 if your ever worried.

SWEET
Cheers boys, not sure wat theyre rated to but i always try to keep the boat light especially over the corrugation that can build up on the steep point track. Thanks again

yes mate i built trailers
yes mate
i built trailers for 15 years and i would recomend single leaf 100%
just as the other post said, make sure it suits the weght, not to hard not to soft.
but they are way better than leafs.
cheers
