Trailer Work

Just chasing some advice on potentially taking my boat of the trailer in the yard and resting on tyres or the like to do a trailer overhaul. Boat is a 575 cruise craft outsider, not sure if a good idea or not?

When I did it i went to the boat racking people near swan yacht club. They stuck the boat in a pen for 25 bucks a day while I fixed the trailer. Was easy.

Ive got a 685 and wouldnt try it as I have a bunk trailer. But if yours is a roller and you've got a good winch its not that hard-plus a couple of mates to help.
Ive done it with my old trailcraft 5.8, dead easy

piece of piss
a boat that size you can do it one handed (easier with 2 though) one tyre under the keel at the back one on either side then tie off the back undo the which a metre or so then drive forward slowly then place tyres as it comes of the trailer under the keel a bit more off the whinch then repeat until its on the ground to get back on line up the trailer not on the car and wind the trailer under the boat. done

easy
..and when you have finished just push your trailer back up to the boat, hook up the winch and wind it back on. I did it with a 6.5m ali no probs. the trailer just slides back under the boat.
This habit is getting expensive!

Yeah, should be okay,
Yeah, should be okay, especially with someone to help you. Couple of other tips - if you need some tyres - pop into a Bob Jane....the guys at mine (Joondalup) let me take as many as i needed off the recycling pile and said just to stack them back when I was done. Also, might be worth putting something (cardboard maybe) between the tyres and driveway /boat to prevent them marking. When I did my boat I found the marks on the boat were hard to shift and the driveway was almost impossible (they have faded now though)
