Transducer for Lowrance

Hi Guys. Can someone recommend a half decent transducer to go with a Lowrance Elite 5x sounder? This is for a mate who's heading to exmouth soonish and wants to get the max out of his unit. Cheers in advance.

When my original hds transducer snapped after a trip to the abrohlos I got an airmar p66 which I think is a bit better and certainly more durable. Got it online for about $160 from memory. Can prob find out where if you like.

So timmbo, is the readout a lot better than the stock standard in your opinion?

I think it is after using both and if I was to buy another hds 5 would definitely get the airmar P66 transducer.

Jump in there and have a read through that. I hated my hds5 until Paul sent me that info. Makes a massive difference having the setting right and probably not something thats going to be gained by changing to a different 600w tranny.
