The commercial guys are taking a real hiding with the ammount of area they can't use Demersal Trawl, Demersal Gillnet and Demersal Longline. The guys down at windy Harbour got their way the only trouble is that rec-fishers can't fish as well. Another area out from Margs. is a green zone as well in the southwest corner.
Can you explain that comment Howard coz at the moment I'm at a loss as to where you are going with that comment??.
I have quite a few very good friends at Windy and trust me they"REC FISHERS" are doing it tough since the introduction of a few xtra Commercial boats that frequent the area. 1 in particular took 12 boxes,"Big Ones" out of there over the last couple of weeks. They were estimated at 6 tonnes and at a average price of $10 a kilo, Hmmm not bad $$$$$'s.
The guys at Windy, the ones that I speak to regurally, are in favour of some Marine Parks.
is going to have the ripple effect in all areas of Marine, tackle shops, boat builders, fun for the family and kids etc.
I would like fisheries to do a complex survey of HOW many boats actually go fishing, HOW many boats/expensive boats go fishing, HOW many boats actually leave Fremantle Yacht Club, Perth Yacht Club and any other private boating Clubs (which has private pens etc,) then you have the boat stacking compounds. Because I'm damn sure out of the 600,000 odd boats only 30% (being fair) actually go fishing and do the 30% catch fish on a regular basis? This is to old fart and I is a big bone of contention and good arguements with family and friends. As nobody in Government has done a exact survey of who, what and when go fishing, even how many actually move out of private fishing clubs/pens/boat stackers.

Well aware of the no take zone
Well aware of the No Take Zone and most will get used to it, well maybe not.
There is always some that will not sacrafice an inch but want the yard.
The problem is, which has been mentioned, is our ever increasing population and thats all because we are rich in resourses.
