Warning computer scam

Had my second call from this mob (Indian accent) saying I have corrupted files on my computer. They say they are from Microsoft and responding to a software fault sent by my computer.
Tanya asks you to go to your computer, which is when I baulked. Asked her where she is calling from "Sydney" what is her phone number "02 809 15001", thank you I'll ring back.
I googled this number, plenty of hits, the scam involves you setting up "Remote access" to them on your computer. Then they install Malware on your PC. Then they want to charge you to remove it, getting your credit card details.
I've had two calls so far, dont be fooled.

Nearly did
Got a phone call a week back from someone with an indian/eastern sounding voice and it turned out to be for an invite to a CCC dinner, went close to making a very big mistake.

Have had the same scam tried
Have had the same scam tried on me about 2 months ago.
Also when I looked into it I was told never to set up a remote access program, even if its from a well know computer company. Only takes one bad egg in the company and he/she can access your computer when they want. You might be able to trust the owner but you can never be to sure about there employees.

If only the Government would step in, find the bastards and prosecute with a fine of $50,000 or more.

Details
Usually I ask for their name and details of the company's name and phone number. Once they've given it I let them know that I'm listed on the "Do not call register" and they will be liable for a $10 grand fine. They usually hang straight up and I pass on their info to the "Don not call"mob to follow up with. They have got back to me on 4-5 just recently to inform me that they look like bringing charges against them, good shit!!

just ask them what time it
just ask them what time it is over there and what time they have dinner and tell them that you will ring them back at that time, as they usually interupt your dinner. plenty of scams going around but i dont trust anyone that offers you something
