Washed Away

Just had a look at Exmouth's weather radar and it looks like they are getting bucketted on. There is a severe weather warning out for Carnarvon through to Exmouth and Onslow and they are not wrong.

We have had a couple of showers here in Carnarvon but expect tomorrow is going to be rather damp and windy.

Have had reports that the country inland right through to Meeka and beyond is dryer than a camel's fart so I hope some of its going to penetrate in there as well

Carnarvonite as a guess do

Thu, 2010-12-16 17:03

Carnarvonite

as a guess do you know how long it takes for the roads to re-open?

Is it an assessment to how wet or logged up the roads are? looking at the weather forecast the storm will be over by sunday/monday do you think 3 days is sufficent?

is it still worth planning our trip? i would hate to buy all this food and stuff to find out that we wont be going and vice versa (the latter will better tho)

Worst

Thu, 2010-12-16 17:57

From the forecasts the worst is still to come and its heading down towards Steep point so I have no idea when it will clear let alone for the roads to re open.

Just spent the last half an hour putting a tarp over a friends caravan, typical woman, why not do it during the gaps [ small]  in the rain instead of waiting till its pissing down.  All done ,everyone got soaked and only the dog loved it, racing through the puddles belly deep at a million miles an hour

Yeah we had a few Heavy downfalls in Telfer in the last couple days.  Still 40+ temps though. Best of both Worlds

Had to wait an hr or so for the Weather to pass before the plane took off.
