We are here in the SW ( paradise) & rapt!

Hello again guys,
yeah we did make it over to the west about 8 months ago & it took us quite a while to get the house & gardens sorted. 20ft x 10 above ground vegie plot ( now shaded) & picked up a lot of spoilt hay to plant pumkins, zuchs, eggplants etc. Now we are waiting for the back patio to be built & solarhart on the shed roof.
Love peppie & forrest beach although the herring are not easy late arvos.
Still its great to have a swim before berleying up. Last night Jo caught a nice flattie for dinner so we were self suff. with home grown broad beans, zuchs, carrots,& mini capsicums + home brewed beer & lambrusca red.
catchalater!

Hi 7739ian. Sorry mate , couldnt afford the bore as well so just picked up the usual irrigation stuff from bunnings. The water pressure is better than Vic. but think I have a leak somewhere under ground. Love Peppy & now ( dare i say it) we get the forrest beach to ourselves as nobody wants to walk from the carpark!!! Your lad still in Tucker St??
If so tell him it was me round at Mark`s playing the congas in the band practice before the New Year bash at the club!

Yep in the Diggers Club, great stuff they have! After reading a few of their books and tasting some of the different varietys of things its hard to eat anything but home grown hey! I look forward to the day I have the room to be self sufficient and be able to grow all the different varietys of veggies that are out there!

Yeh I love the freckles lettuce, just gotta tell people it's supposed to be like that when I give them a salad with it in cos it looks like bad lettuce.. haha.

I got a black zebra growing at the moment but no fruit off it yet, also grown the mini caps last year but this year I've got some bigger types. Got bout 80 packets off seeds from them myself, over 30 types of tomatoes! Happy to seed you some too if you like.

Great minds think alike

You have probably read some of the Grass Roots mags? I have a couple of articles in 2 of their editions. One is about OCAS & the other BABACOS (which are in my avatar.) Since coming over to the west been trying to locate some without success. Diggers do sell them on occasion but the cost to here with freight & quarantine spraying is unbelievable. So if you here of any please let me know.
Cheers Dave
