15 Knot SE is OK but you
15 Knot SE is OK but you really don't know till you get off shore. If you head south early you can always ride back in on the seabreeze. Went out on Saturday off Lancelin, was meant to be 10 Knot E but once you got 5 - 10 NM out it was like a washing machine. Then had to come back in with two sick people on board at 8 knots. Only good thing was the 5KG Dhuie we got on the first drop. I have a 5.8 Genisis and I think they ride pretty well. These days the first thing I do is get up early, go out side and look at the trees, then decide it i'm heading out or not.

I tend to work on the 15,
I tend to work on the 15, 15, 15, principle. That is winds under 15 knots 1.5 seas and 1.5 swell then its a big GEE OOW. But then Im a bit of a pussy. LOL

We get ef all wind at home
We get ef all wind at home but a 3 minute ride to the boat ramp is a good indication. I only use the forcast as a guide and play the rest by ear. www.bom.gov.au has fairly accurate forcasts. Remember you have to crawl b4 you walk as well.

true that guys forecast says
true that guys forecast says 5 knot ends up twenty five. Boatings like a game of poker know when 2 hold them know when 2 fold them. Live in rockingham and some days its blowing its tits off down here and i get a call from my mates saying its calm as in perth lets head out for a flick a whole lot of pleading by them and the boat stays on the trailer but only a sensible skipper knows when 2 fold them. Just hoping for a GOOD friday
born 2 fish forced 2 fold them

It takes a bit to learn
It takes a bit to learn about a new boats handling ability and what it is capable of as well. Still learning about mine and what my boat can handle.

Where you heading out
Where you heading out from???
i look at 2 or 3 different weather sites to check out the differences.
seabreeze.com.au
weatherzone.com.au
bouyweather.com.au
it doesnt phase me too much, being in a 7.8m fibre console winds not too much of an issue, but swell still is.
Usually il head out in under 15knot winds, 2m swells no dramas.
But south westerlies in the mornings is a indication of bad / unpridictable weather.
Im heading out off two rocks on friday, winds in the morning are 5-10knot NE in morning, and 5-8 knot Southerlies in Arvo, with a 2m swell at this stage.
