September is approaching and the cream is rising to the top.
is the top eight finalized? Will the Commission have the final say and boot essendoping out?
One would expect (read "hope") that the Hawks and Dockers will win. But other games aren't so cut and dry. Richmond vs Brisbane, Geelong vs Port, Carlton vs Bulldogs. Upsets are possible but perhaps unlikely. Sydney vs Collingwood, interesting. Shapes as a great game, probably the match of the round and a barometer for both coming to the business end. And perhaps the other games are no longer relevant (I love saying that about West Coast!).
Freo are top four on their merits and threatening for a top two finish, and for the first time I'll be enjoying consecutive years of September action!

I've never seen a Freo supporter in roberts road at 3/4 time because I am always inside the stadium cheering. And I must be surrounded by the faithfull because I never see them leaving, or am I too busy cheering on my team? What I do see, are the eagles fans leaving in their droves in the final quarter as the fat lady is singing.

I was dealing with stuff more important than fishing forums and if you go back and look you'll see I did eventualky comment to the effect that we weren't good enough but in the context of who we had out there was no need to panick. Which is evident by the fact that freo are now in the top four, should remain in the top four, can press for a top two spot and WILL play finals.

Easy draw? Look at the 5 teams that the Dockers have / will have played twice this year.
West Coast, Richmond, Melb, Crows, Saints.
Of those Richmond will make the finals and are no easybeats.
Meb and Saints, oh well, have to agree.
That leaves Crows and West Coast, both teams that have well underperformed this year. Not the Dockers fault they are not competitive in the competition.
