Lowrance

Have a Lowrance 107cdf. 600watt output. Great for up to 150mtrs but drops out after that. Good colour and screen qualities. If your fishing in under 100mtrs than for under a grand not a bad sounder. If you want to fish deaper than look at something like a Furuno. I am selling mine soon and buying a Furuno fcv585 with a 1KW transducer.

Oooo...... I'm in love with that new F585.

Gonna try for a deal at the boat show (Southampton) if not might even go over the pond and get one.

Can anyone say why they are half the price in the USA than anywhere else?

Any info on a supplier in Japan and if they are cheaper there???

If money is no object, cough up for a Navman 6600 and toss in an underwater camera lead hooked up to the screen!

And if money is an object, stretch for colour!

Good luck Sgroomy...

Boutime, what are you looking for in a centre console?

The Furuno FCV 585 with a 600w or a 1kw is the best on the market for it's price IMO and the features exceed many other brands....that's important features i'm talking about.

If $$$ wasn't an issue i'd go for what i have which is a Furuno FCV1100 commercial colour LCD video sounder with 2kw 200khz for high definition in shallow water and then a 2kw 28khz for deep water and this is a wetbox set up.

Sounder info - Hummingbird

Yes I have seen the latest Hummingbird up and running on my mates jigging boat.

It certainly gives a great picture and nice bright colors even in strong sunlight.
The fancy side-scan isn't so hot and doesn't show fish, only structure (15-45metres vhigh salinity sea water).
Its a combo unit and his last two (same brand) have crashed and took his data with them!!!
He got a good deal with this one and here the maps are easy to copy, that's why he went for it.

On the plus side his catches have doubled since he been running it.
