What type of Tuna is this?

I caught this tuna a little while ago off Carnarvon. I am not 100% sure what species of Tuna it is.
Either way it was fun to catch and release!

I think they are an inshore
I think they are an inshore species? Never caught one longlining offshore that I recall.
With all these species, bigeye, SBT, yellow etc-the smaller they are, the harder to tell apart even in the flesh

The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.

Look at that. Fisheries have just changed their classification on them. They did fall under the 'nearshore' category but have now been placed up into the 'large pelagic' category. The website has changed so better make sure you don't get caught out with them.
