not fishing but most of the older members would remember 2 events that used to happen every year. First one, The Birdman Rally. also, choc milk carton regatta. they were always a good laugh. Any other events that used to be but no longer

im 16 and know of all this. i think the one race that take trumps is the boat racing in the dried up lake in the alice. although i think its still going

Birman Rally flopped into the sea
To many competitors drank other choc milks and the regatta sank because there wasnt enough cartons!!!!

Choc milk regatta stopped
Choc milk regatta stopped due to insurance issues and the enviromental whingers. A mate and i every year would help with rescue work in our Utility boat. The last all in event you'd end up with just about every carton and kids everywhere. I found memory is a shot we have with the boat up to the gunnels in cartons and about 16 kids and three adults..
