There was one in Hedland

Sat, 2010-11-06 08:35

There was one in Hedland harbour around 12 months ago. Ship lost its steering just as it was exiting the harbour and the tugs didnt have time to react. Drove straight onto the reef across from the boat ramp. Lucky it was an incoming tide and there were plenty of  extra tugs around to help get it out of the way.

I don't think anyone got hurt, I guess the good thing about shipping accidents is they tend to happen slow enough for people to get out of the way.
Expensive little exercise, especially with the tuna season coming up down that way.
