where are the flatties?

about a month ago i was getting 2 or 3 flatties within an hour, hour n half at my local spot (east freo). This last week ive been a few times and only got one tiny flatty, plus a couple tarwhine and even whiting. Anyone catching a few?

Well a month or two ago the River was full of prawn (well maybe not full - but more than you can find now). At that stage while diving you would see large numbers of the smaller flathead (sub 30cm) and around 2-3 of the 45-60cm flathead per dive.

we went flicking out at point
we went flicking out at point walter on sunday for 4 hours and only landed one - luckily that one was a big boy, 56cm
in the weeks before we had been catching 7-8 between us

The flatties seem to have
The flatties seem to have mostly moved off the flats about 3 weeks ago. I've gotten back into decent numbers by fishing deep water with metal blades. On the positive side the flats have been chock full of bream.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.

Ok so im not just imagining it, they actually have moved out of the shallows. guess ill have to travel a bit further for a fish now
