Where to buy a 520-PLD thru hull transducer

Does anyone know where I can buy a 520-PLD 600 watt thru hull transducer to suit my FCV628 sounder?

i would like to find somewhere locally or at least an Australian site, I can't find anything online other than overseas sites or eBay.

cheers

That's a 520T-PLD and it's not on the furuno list of transducers that support bottom discrimination and whitworths advised it does not support bottom discrimination also. My google search did find that but it's not what I'm looking for.

Can I ask why that transducer? Is it just because its cheap?
If you are really after bottom discrimination it may be better to go with something that has a better element setup.

 I have a p66 transom mount

I have a p66 transom mount now and I'm sick of it and want to put a thru hull transducer. I don't want to spend big dollars in case I decide to go 1kw in the future.

i don't really use the bottom discrimination but it would be nice to have the option to use it which is why I would like a transducer that's compatible.

i have an old thru hull transducer already installed and I think the 520-PLD will fit straight into the same hole, save me cutting more holes into the hull.

Transducer

The 520T-PLD Plastic 600W Depth/Temp says it is RezBoost™ Enhanced, BDS & ACCU-Fish Compatible. But it is only going to be a low quality transducer so you could get better picture with a different but standard version.
I would look at something like the B60 in bronze as an option thats not that much more.

 Whitworths and Taylor marine

Whitworths and Taylor marine both advised that the 520T-PLD won't work on the 628, the furuno brochure for the 628 doesn't list this transducer.

taylor marine also recommended the B60.

i am currently running a 525T-PWD transom mount but I'm not happy with it (both performance wise and also transducer location wise).

The only problem with the B60 is that I want to install it where my hull is flat without any deadrise angle so I don't know if it will be suitable.

I think the only 0 degree tilt thru hull tranny that works for 628 features is the P319

P319

I have a p319 on the planing plank of my Haines signature. Gets a good pic up to 18kn then depending on conditions and boat load starts to break up somewhat, if I had my time again would put in a b744 or a b45. Mainly to get the transducer face below any boundary layer/bubbles that may be running along the hull. I have a Garmin 70s and a Furuno 628 with the mix and match cables, the furuno is a far superior unit but surprisingly the Garmin gets a better pic at speed.
