Whippy or stiff
Submitted by rails8291 on Sat, 2012-05-12 15:56
Hey fellas Have my reel sorted, now chasing a soft plastics rod,, looking at a 7ft- 2-4kg fast action, I have my eye on the new daiwa T series rod, but it seem pretty stiff compared to a few others I've tried . has anyone used one for SP and could tell me what there like, what would be better a stiffer tip or a whippy tip for throwing SP. Or does it not matter to much, any other rod suggestions would be appreciated, or any info on the tips would go a long way too. Thanks in advance Rick

If your casting light lures and jig heads ide go for something whippy.

Plastics rod
Generally a fast actioned rod with a bit of a"flick" in the top end is preffered when fishing soft plastics. It allows you to put maximum action into you placcy. We have the Pflueger 7ft 2-4kg Asaro in store which would match up nicely to your Freams. We can do that one for $179 FW price.
Cheers

all the small daiwa
all the small daiwa spinning reels i own already have these bearings, your reel if i read the spec sheet correctly will only have plastic bushes in these places. ebay, type in daiwa freams super tune. these bearings can be aquired from other places like bearing shops and i've found rc hobby shops stock bearings that will fit but how good they will stand up to salt water is another story. you probly wont need em its just a little tweek if you want a slightly smoother reel.

Soft plastics Rod
Thinking of replacing my SP rod in that line class as well and wondered if any body had used a Daiwa RedBack Rod, seem to have a good spec, IM7 and alconite guides, I've played around with one and they feel really nice for the price (really want a pflueger patriarch but my budget cant quite stretch to that)
Lifes a game but fishing is serious !!!

Correct Rick, You want
Correct Rick, You want something with a bit of play in roughly the top third of the rod, But you dont want something that resembles a "Happy Dog" Feel free to come down and see what we have in stock, We also carry the Pflueger Patriarch which is another very nice rod.
Cheers

i use the Pflueger trion 7 ft i think its its 2-4kg great rod for light plastics and lures and i think u can get them for around $100 now. I also have a heaver daiwa t series rod for plastics of my mates boat the rod and action is very good but i dont like the reel seat the reel can twist unless u do it up realy tight and still just dosent feel right if u been into see one u will understand hope this helps.
