Feels like we are having a more traditional spring than the last couple of years. Hopefully that means a better and perhaps an earlier (Mid November) run???

I went out today and checked my pot that I have still in the water I hadn't checked it in 3 weeks pit was so heavy to pull up and to our surprise had a decent size Cray in there too. We switched out the rope as it was covered in slime hopefully this helps us when we pull it next time.

Orange Christmas tree flowering

Tue, 2019-11-12 07:34

The white run usually coincides with the first flowering of our orange Christmas trees. Had to head down to Toodyay on the weekend and noticed them starting to bloom around Gin Gin so expect the run to be not far off

Idiots on Facebook

The idiots posting on Facebook are...well...idiots.

The amount of angst the whites cause folks is rediculous and that is made worse by morons who post old photos.

4 Sized Whites

Mon, 2019-11-18 12:35

Pulled pots yesterday after soaking them for a week. Out of six pots three had crayfish shells due to octopus, one pot had a busted bait basket and struts (presumably due to a wobbie) and the other two pots had bugger all.

Pulled the pots again this morning (24 hours later) and we got 4 sized whites. Also returned 4 undersize.

This is NOR and I am making an assumption we will be bagging out by the end of the week.

This morn same area. Quick in and out. Only shallow. Whites that I seen and got, hard and easy targets. Never got any jelly beans. Be surprised if potters don’t do well Wednesday or Thursday. Still think going to be quick run . No dought people behind five will do better than most. I just haven’t seen the numbers in shallow this year. Probably stopped at 5 fathom this year. Getting excited.....first year with pots out...one home made timber other a free Plastic.

Dropped them Sunday so will do the first pull this weekend...using Cow Fat for bait atm...was free and being a bit early thought I use this for the week soak instead of the Tuna heads.

I googled tallow it says animal fat or rendered down fat. I use pig fat but if I have any fat at home I will use it. Wouldn't want too much of it on a nice boat though.
