white marine paint
Submitted by wayneleech on Sat, 2011-12-10 11:05
Hi all,
I've had some mods done to the console on my ally boat. I wanted to spray this white, plus touch up a few marks on the boat.
What's the go with marine paint? Can you buy it in a spray can? It's only a small area so I don't need alot of paint.
Also - does anyone know of a place to buy it NOR. I live up Mindarie way.
cheers
Wayne

International Brightside
Get yourself a small can of International Brightside from one of the boating stores - it contains teflon so after brushing it on - yes brushing on the paint covers the surface extremely well - you can just keep brushing - it covers an amazing amount of surface area - brilliant product - you'll need less than a litre - I think tin size comes in 500ml. Check it out

Or this one which gives a really good description

I repainted a whole boat - 18 footer with two litres- it spreads that well ( 2 coats)
Hope this is useful for your project.

hi Perry - thanks for the suggestions:)
how's the end product look after you brush it on? Do you see any brush strokes or do these drop out as the gloss settles?

Hi Wayne - its a fantastic product - just talk to the guys when you go into the shop - I'll check my can but pretty sure its called International Brightside - Because of the silicon/teflon in the paint you HAVE to brush it on, and just keep brushing as it goes a hell of a long way. Best way to go about it is to use a little first and just see how far it'll go.It does say not to spray as the paint is so thin it'll run for sure. The end product looks like it has been sprayed on! Thats a big statement I know but thats how good it is! I reckon more people would do more projects for their boats and paint them using this stuff to get a really great finish. Its so cheap for such a great finish is what makes it so good! You can also get a cd from International Paints to explain all their different products.
