Anyone down Mandurah way picking up any crays yet or are they still hiding and hardening up before they make a run for deeper water.

Whites walking
Sounds about par for the course, we are back of 5 fathom and will hopefully get out tomorrow for a look if the winds are favourable.

Checked our pots today back
Checked our pots today back of carnac. Disappointing to find one pot nearly 100m from where it was dropped, bait gone no Crays, and heavy cable tie to rope weight cut clean off (we pull by hand, but guess it doesn't go well through the winch) . Took us about 20 mins to free it from the reef. Not sure how all that happened eh....
Should add, here was us going 'check this guy with 10m of rope on surface' (pot close to us), probably suffered same fate with his rope weight. Very distinctive, yellow floats and rope....

Boat bonfire at end of summer?
Fisheries quiet this year so far on pinging illegal pullers and outright thiefs. That might mean its happening less or there just warming up
on surveilance we hope.
In 50 years time or less we can have micro pot alarms hooked up to your mobile , which you then send thru too fisheries , whom zoom in on satelite
and send message to crims boat ecm to shutdown, and send them the fine via email before they get towed back to the ramp.

Would be good to see more of
Would be nice to see more of fisheries out on the water as a deterrent but they can't be everywhere. Guess we have to rely on people not being thieving dishonest pricks ..... Good to hear if anyone has some new tech ideas to stop this sort of behaviour. For now we are considering some well placed trebles on the rope.

Might want to rethink that
Might want to rethink that if fisheries decide to pull your pots![](http://fishwrecked.com/sites/all/libraries/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/teeth_smile.gif)

Looped some really soft whites and double shell reds off mandurah yesterday.. south of james service between the 2 banks though.. I’d say they are still a few days away down here, diving again today in a similar area, hope it’s not so bloody murky

Not many pots in here at
Not many pots in here at Kalbarri. Hardly any, in fact. There are normally plenty in by now, although there won't be any worthwhile crays for at least 4 or 5 days yet, probably more.
